Graduate Student Workers subject to the collective bargaining agreement between the University and the Graduate Student Workers Organizing Committee – UAW Local 872 with F-1 or J-1 Visas who become out of status while resident in the United States through no fault of their own may be eligible for up to $1,000 to cover fees and out of pocket expenses (including legal expenses) incurred to reinstate a J-1 or F-1 visa.

Students who believe they qualify are required to first initiate a conversation with the Office of International Services regarding their visa status.
