Maegan Fairchild

Maegan Fairchild is a PhD Candidate in Philosophy and the co-founder of MAP (Minorities and Philosophy), a network of graduate students dedicated to facilitating increased participation of underrepresented groups in academic philosophy. Maegan works on issues in metaphysics and philosophical logic. Her current research focuses on the power of “anti-arbitrariness” considerations in metaphysics and on the limits of radically permissive ontologies. Her dissertation, Unlimited Ontology and Its Limits, explores material plenitude, the view that there is a multitude of coincident objects wherever there is any material object. Fall 2018, Maegan will join the Philosophy Department at the University of Michigan.
